Levaquin MDL Status Conference Reveals Updates on Settlements
Judge John R. Tunheim recently mediated a status conference for the Levaquin MDL. According to meeting minutes, the MDL currently consolidate 1,787 lawsuits alleging Levaquin tendon ruptures and related injuries. There are almost 2,000 other cases currently centralized in New Jersey state court, although Johnson & Johnson reports that it has reached hundreds of Levaquin settlements in NJ. The MDL docket also reports that 14 cases have been voluntarily dismissed, possibly indicating additional settlements. The bellwether trial for the Levaquin side effects MDL is scheduled for October 2012.
