With at least 22 Neomedic sling lawsuits filed so far, plaintiffs have motioned for the creation of coordinated litigation in West Virginia federal court, where six other MDLs are pending. Court documents in a recent pelvic mesh injury lawsuit argue that the Monarc Subfascial Hammock contains bio-incompatible materials, which cause an immune system reaction. The plaintiff says after being implanted with the AMS device, she suffered pain, fibrosis, scarring and disability. Final Bard Avaulta Mesh Bellwether Trial Set for December
The final bellwether hearing for transvaginal mesh trials concerning the Bard Avaulta device have been scheduled to start on December 3. The first Bard Avaulta mesh lawsuit was heard in July and resulted in a jury award of $2 million. There are currently more than 4,800 lawsuits currently filed in the federal court system relating to the device. Each plaintiff alleges the mesh caused serious health complications.
